1st Cavalry Division

The U.S. 1st Cavalry Division, with its illustrious military pedigree, was based in the continental United States as a POMCUS formation, to be ferried to a war-engulfed Europe as part of REFORGER. The formation’s hurried deployment in NATO’s Magdeburg Counterstrike would see it absorb assets of what remained of the British 4th Armoured Brigade for additional firepower.
The U.S. 1st Cavalry Division deploys the M2 BRADLEY IFV (in various configurations), CAV. TROOPERS fireteams, the M109A2 (GLCP) firing laser-guided shells, the upgraded M1 MOD main battle tank, plus British CHALLENGER MK.2, M3 BRADLEY CFV recon vehicles, M3 ETAS, anti-air M2 BRADLEY BSFV, and YCQM-121A PAVE TIGER Electronic Warfare drones.

1-ya Gvardeyskaya Proletarskaya Motostrelkovaya Diviziya

The Soviet 1-ya Gvardeyskaya Proletarskaya Motostrelkovaya Diviziya, or 1st Guards Proletarian Motorized Infantry Division, was one of the most prestigious and longest-serving formations of the Soviet Army. Based in Kaliningrad Oblast and reinforced by several anti-tank units, the second-echelon division would have arrived in the East German Magdeburg area, just in time to counter NATO’s surprise counter-attack.

The Soviet 1-ya Gvardeyskaya Proletarskaya Motostrelkovaya Diviziya features up-armored T-72 URAL-1, as well as the T-72AV fitted with ERA. The towed MT-12R RUTA (radar-guided) 100mm anti-tank guns can also deploy, as well as MT-LB ATAKA missile tank destroyers, the R-330T TARAN, a MT-LB-based SIGINT vehicle, the rare PERO UAV, MiG-25PD interceptors, and the YaK-28PP Electronic Warfare airplane.
