You create land in the first few rounds, which you occupy with your cities and troops. Over the course of the game, these generate the resources mana and clay, which you can use to build more land and cast powerful spells. The aim is to remove your opponent’s main characters from the game. This can be achieved in various ways, but is only final if the opponent no longer has any foot troops. It is therefore of decisive tactical depth when exactly an opponent should be attacked and when a certain spell should be cast. 
 
These game dynamics change depending on the number of players, game variant and mods used. For example, the Armageddon mod puts you under pressure after a few rounds, while others speed up the game and make certain game mechanics more complex. For example, instead of fighting the other gods, it can be wise to build up your own territory so that you can watch the others disappear into the depths of nothingness during the final battle.

The virtual board game room (VBR) is a sandbox system that allows you to create board games and play them interactively with friends via a network. In addition to a variety of ready-made board game elements such as dice, playing cards and figures, it is also possible to load your own 3D models and add textures. We aim to give users as much creative freedom as possible while providing a powerful framework to be able to depict and develop board games as faithfully as possible. As a game developer, it is possible to quickly create playable and testable digital prototypes from your initial ideas in order to present and optimize them in a sophisticated way. VBR is a working tool for players and developers alike. Create your own board games, share and play them with your friends or test your games in a simple way, without much material effort. Up to six players can meet in a virtual room and enjoy the freedom of a real gaming table. As in real life, VBR does not implement any specific game rules, but offers a generic space for developing individual ideas. The multiplayer function is based on a self-hosting system in which each host participant provides the server for other players. This basis grants users a maximum degree of freedom and the greatest possible independence from third-party systems From the classic Ludo to highly complex strategy games, a large number of board game mechanics can be implemented. From chess and Go to D&amp;D and Hero Quest, only your imagination sets the limits. VBR itself does not offer any possibility to model 3D bodies or edit textures in the moment. It combines these types of resources in a playable and editable environment. To push your artistic skills to the limit, we recommend using external programs such as Blender, Gimp and InkScape.
