This is a playable alpha slice of our upcoming consequence-based metroidvania, Tyro: Legend of Whisperwood. While not representative of final progression systems, this standalone experience offers a focused glimpse into the tone, combat, visuals, and storytelling we’re building toward.

You’ll play as Tyro, a vengeful field mouse navigating Beetle City — an eerie, isolated district ruled by beetles and untouched by the spreading Gladeblight, a sickness turning the creatures of Whisperwood into violent husks.

In this alpha slice, you can expect:

• Explore a colorful, hand-drawn 2D world full of animated detail and quirky charm

• Voice-acted characters that enhance the atmosphere and bring the world of Whisperwood to life

• Challenging boss battles, including a hidden secret boss for players who explore deeply

• Collectible power-ups that enhance your movement and combat abilities

• Abilities including slashing, dashing, slingshot attacks, and healing

• Light environmental puzzles and discoverable lore that hint at the broader story

This slice takes place during a later part of the game and is designed to offer a standalone 2+ hour experience. It’s a small but meaningful taste of the world we’re crafting.
