Stillayer
About this game
Most software fights for your attention. Stillayer gives it back.
It's a calm ambient layer that lives quietly on your desktop — your wallpaper rising and falling like a slow breath, waiting behind your icons while you work, ready the moment you glance its way. Move your cursor sharply and the surface stirs. Slow down, and it settles on its own. Hold still, and light gathers where you rest.
Nothing is demanded of you. Nothing is measured.
A layer, not an app
Stillayer renders behind your desktop icons, in the same space a live wallpaper lives. Your icons stay where they are. Your windows stay in front. It's simply there, breathing, in the background of everything you already do — never a window to manage, never a thing to open.
Two ways to be still
• Breathing wallpaper — the default. Your everyday desktop, quietly alive.
• Retreat — one keystroke brings the full-screen layer forward: all four scenes, full light, full sound. Press Esc and you're back to work in an instant.
Four living scenes
• Breathe · Presence — A glow rises and falls with the breath. Follow it in, and out.
• Ripple · Stillness — Move sharply and the water churns; slow down and the ripples settle. Calm isn't chased — it's what remains when you stop.
• Bloom · Being — Rest, and light slowly blooms where you pause. Here, doing nothing is the whole point.
• Aware · The Watcher — Thoughts drift across the surface on their own. Rest your attention on one, and it dissolves.
Breath, tuned to you
Follow a natural rhythm, or a guided one — 4-7-8, Box, or a physiological sigh. A soft ambient bed plays underneath, tuned to 432 Hz (or 440, your choice), with gentle water and bell tones that answer your movement — and fall quiet the moment another window takes the screen.
What Stillayer will never do
No notifications. No streaks. No progress bars. No goals, no badges, nothing to chase. It won't buzz, nag, or ask you to come back. It's there when you look, and gone when you don't.
Make it yours
Choose your accent color, breath pace, and scene. Turn the quiet prompts on or off. Switch the whole interface between English and 中文 with a click. Your settings are remembered; the app stays out of your way.
Your desktop is already always there. Now it breathes.
