A music-based platformer where the platforms are your own musical loops! Run and jump through puzzling single-screen platforming challenges while using the game's soundtrack to create a path to reach the end! 

Platforming in SongRunner is precise, puzzly, and extremely expressive. You'll play notes which become the platforms that you use to reach the end of each screen, and the notes you play will blend seamlessly with the game's completely original soundtrack.

At the end of every level, you'll have created your own platforming solution as well as your own unique melody to the soundtrack.

Across dozens of handcrafted levels in SongRunner, you'll have to contend with a variety of rhythmic hazards, platforming puzzles, and even unique instrument types.

Challenge yourself even further and try to complete chapters fast enough for the star time. Beware - this will sometimes require platforming and performing at the same time. 

SongRunner was originally made for the 2025 Game Maker's Toolkit Game Jam and was featured as one of 20 favorites in the official GMTK results.

No AI was used in any part of the game's development.
