The chess pieces have health-bars that must be depleted by attacks before they're eliminated. The units also try to automatically heal themselves if the right conditions are met. You can choose to avoid a difficult chessboard or maybe the rewards are worth the tougher fight? Deep into the castle you'll encounter monsters, giants and bosses.
