About the Game

You take on the role of a part-time worker at a paper-processing company, where your job is as repetitive as it is essential: check documents, box them, and move on to the next. But this isn't just another mind-numbing shift—the protagonist suffers from a disorder that causes frequent, random memory loss. Routine tasks are a constant struggle, and each day is a battle to remember even the simplest steps.
When you’re hired by a paper company promising stability, you quickly sense all is not as it seems. The lights flicker, colleagues act strangely, and gaps in your memory make details of the job—and the dark secrets of the workplace—difficult to piece together. Gradually, you realize something sinister is happening beneath the surface of ordinary office life.

Perform paper task while keeping the anomaly away from the shore
Take Painkillers to avoid the illusions
Piece together clues to banish the anomaly and save your soul
Solve random paperwork anomalies: identify and correct corrupted or “impossible” documents before they strengthen the anomaly.
Manage scarce resources: ration painkillers, coffee, or other meds, each with side effects that can alter perception or memory.

Paper Department is a psychological horror game in which you are a night-shift clerk working at a sinister paper company, who must approve or reject never-ending stacks of documents—while pursued by horrific visions, nightmare memories, and a mind that cannot be trusted.
