OIL.EXE - The Easy Button

About this game

OIL.EXE is played from a command prompt. You type SCAN, you type DRILL, and you keep track of what each command needs. Plenty of people like it that way. If you're not one of them, this is for you.

The Easy Button adds a point-and-click interface on top of the terminal. It doesn't change the game. Every button runs the same command the keyboard would; you just don't have to type it or remember it.

Clickable commands

Each command shows up as a note stuck to your monitor: SCAN, DRILL, PUMP, SELL, CONFIG, TOGGLE, and the rest. Click one to run it.

The field notepad

Open the notepad on the desk to see your oil field as a map. Surveyed, drilled, and pumping wells are all marked. Click a tile to scan it, drill it, or add a pump. Your cash and status tables are on the same page.

Menus instead of typing

Anything that used to ask for a typed number or product name is now a menu. Selling walks you through picking a product and an amount. Refineries, storage, and production targets work the same way. Buying a refinery or expanding a tank shows the price before you commit.

One-click new game

Pick how many years you want to play and click Start. There's no prompt to type into.

Still the same game

The field, the market, the events, achievements, and the leaderboard are all unchanged. The terminal is still there if you want to switch back. Buy the DLC and the interface appears on its own.

Requires OIL.EXE to play.
OIL.EXE - The Easy Button

OIL.EXE is a keyboard game. If you'd rather not memorize commands or type them out, this adds a point-and-click layer on top: clickable command notes, a tappable map of your oil field, and simple menus for selling, refining, and the rest. The game underneath is exactly the same.
