Mnema: The Fallen Remembered

About this game

The city of Mnema grew around a bottomless dungeon. It thrives by sending adventurers down — and pretending not to know what becomes of them. The mayor smiles and repeats the same line. No one asks what rises from the pit, or why the lists of names grow longer every season.

You are the founder's heir. Recruit four at the tavern, equip them, and send them down. But remember the one rule the city never says aloud:
What happens in the dungeon stays in the dungeon
It isn't flavor — it's the mechanic. Down there is no law, no justice, no rescue. Theft, betrayal, abandonment: none of it can be proven or punished on the surface. The danger isn't only the monster in the dark — it's the wounded stranger in the corridor who might be bait, and the companion whose agenda you don't know. You are never sure who is on your side.
Turn-based, position-based, unforgiving
Tactical formation combat in the tradition of the great grim dungeon crawlers. Position matters: who stands in front, who bleeds, who panics. Six classes, poison and bleed, horror and a light that dies with every step. The RNG is seeded — the bad luck is fair, but it's still bad luck.
Death is final
Whoever falls below is devoured: erased from the world, forgotten even by the NPCs. True permadeath. Survivors carry back what they can; the rest goes down with the dead. And there is a way to keep the fallen from being forgotten entirely — if you pay the price.
Descend through memory
Twelve floors across six strata — from the ossuary to flesh that rewrites itself behind you. A bestiary of creatures with their own agendas, bosses that yield only when remembered, and a truth you assemble from what each NPC lets slip. No one hands you the answer.
Three endings
At the bottom, a moral dilemma with no clean way out. What you do with what you've learned decides how the story of Mnema — the game and the city — ends.
