What is the Menes: The Chainbreaker Demo?

This demo lets you play through the opening section of Menes: The Chainbreaker, a third-person, parry-focused action-adventure set in a surreal desert prison realm. As Menes, a forgotten celestial shard, you’ll take your first steps toward freeing Bastet and learning why the Creator is chained.

What’s included in the demo

• Approx. 1 hour of gameplay
  Depending on your skill, you can expect anywhere from a short run to many retries as you learn the bosses and platforming challenges.

• 2 boss fights
  Battle powerful “false gods” who are both prisoners and jailers. Each boss has distinct phases, patterns, and punish-windows designed around timings, parries and positioning.

• Parry-focused, Sekiro-inspired combat

  • Third-person melee combat with tight timing windows

  • Emphasis on parrying and counter-attacking rather than button-mashing

  • Enemies that punish greed and reward patience and pattern recognition

• Precision 3D platforming in the desert

  • Use the Icarus wings to glide, correct jumps and cross dangerous gaps

  • Navigate moving platforms, narrow ledges and vertical climbs

  • Fall, learn, and try again until the route “clicks”

• Lore-rich, surreal worldbuilding

  • Discover cryptic murals, environmental storytelling and voice lines hinting at Bastet, the Creator and the Desert Realm

  • Optional paths hide extra lore for players who like to explore every corner

• Focused single-player experience

  • No co-op, no PvP – this demo is all about you learning the systems

  • Checkpoint-based progression that sends you back when you die, but lets you keep your knowledge and mastery

How the demo relates to the full game

This demo is a slice of the full Menes: The Chainbreaker experience: one early area of the Desert Realm, two major bosses, a chunk of the lore, and the core combat + platforming loop.
The full game will expand this with more realms, bosses, abilities, and story choices that shape the fate of the universe.
