About this game
You are not the hero. You are the Demon King.
The pilgrims have left Chang'an. Sun Wukong leads the way — battle-hardened and relentless. Your Demon Throne is the last obstacle between him and the Buddhist scriptures. Hold the line, or watch the journey west succeed.
I Am the Demon King: Stop Sun Wukong is a roguelite tower defense auto-battler set in a reverse Journey to the West.
HOW IT WORKS
Each run unfolds in three phases:
1. Build Phase — Draft monster cards and drag them onto the battlefield grid. Spend Qi to activate magic traps on the ground.
2. Battle Phase — Combat starts automatically. Your demons hold their positions; the pilgrims and heavenly soldiers flood in from the right.
3. Rewards — After each stage, pick one of three: recruit a new unit, equip powerful gear, or learn a spell.
Clear all 10 stages and you stop the journey west — for now.
8 DEMON KINGS
Each Demon King has a unique passive that defines your strategy:
- Bull Demon King — Boosts ATK for all demon-faction allies.
- White Bone Demoness — Enemies she defeats rise again as skeleton soldiers on your side.
- Scorpion Queen — Stacks venom across multiple targets, melting high-HP enemies.
- Iron Fan Princess — Dramatically empowers fire and wind trap synergies.
- Yellow Wind Demon — Grants haste to all units at the start of each wave.
- Ox-Head — Massively increases front-row units' maximum HP.
- Red Boy — Deals bonus damage to human-faction enemies.
- Spider Demoness — Slows all incoming enemies on first contact.
24 MAGIC TRAPS
Build your killing ground with 24 trap types — Miasma, Landslide, Thunder, Frost, Flame Pit, Soul-Drain, and more. Stacking complementary traps creates devastating combos.
FACTION SYNERGIES
Field 3 or more units from the same faction to unlock powerful bonuses:
- Demon: ATK +10% (3+) / ATK +25%, Dodge +8% (5+)
- Underworld: First hit negated each round (3+) / Summon a wraith at battle start (5+)
- Celestial: Crit +5% (3+) / Crit +12%, ATK +8% (5+)
- Human: DEF +10% (3+) / DEF +25%, Healing +30% (5+)
ASCENSION
Complete your first run to unlock Ascension — permanent talents that carry over between runs. Earn Merit after every run and spend it on 8 tiers of upgrades. Each ascension also raises enemy difficulty, so the challenge always keeps pace.

- Classic 7v7 — Pure auto-battler. Build a 7-unit roster and fight through a 10-node Journey West map.
