Game Pulse - 1948 Season Set

About this game

Game Pulse: 1948 Season Set

Step into a pivotal moment in baseball history. This set brings the complete 1948 professional baseball season to Game Pulse — all 16 teams, every player, and authentic ballpark cards reflecting the quirks and dimensions of the era's classic venues.

What's Included

  • All 16 team rosters with full player cards (position players and pitchers)

  • Every 1948-era ballpark, with ratings derived from period park performance data

  • New ratings built from the full 1948 regular season, AL tiebreaker, and World Series

Card Generation

Every card is generated from actual 1948 season statistics. Batter and pitcher ratings are built from real performance data across the full season, with park factors computed from each stadium's run environment — so Lou Boudreau's card reflects his MVP year, and Cleveland Stadium plays the way it played.

The Integration Era Comes Alive

1948 was the year the integration of the American League accelerated — and the Cleveland Indians were at the center of it. Larry Doby, who had broken the AL color line in 1947, became a key contributor on a championship team. Then in July, owner Bill Veeck signed the legendary Satchel Paige, who at age 42 posted a 6–1 record and a 2.48 ERA down the stretch, becoming the first Black pitcher to appear in a World Series game. Their presence on that Cleveland roster helped reshape the game forever — and their real 1948 numbers are all here, card for card.

The AL Tiebreaker

For the first time in American League history, two teams finished the regular season tied for first place. Cleveland vs. Boston, a single winner-take-all game at Fenway Park. Player-manager Lou Boudreau hit two home runs. Gene Bearden pitched a complete game. Recreate the exact matchup or rewrite how it ends.

Relive the 1948 World Series

Cleveland Indians vs. Boston Braves — with Warren Spahn, Johnny Sain, Bob Feller, Bob Lemon, and Paige all part of the story. Replay it batter by batter, manage either side, or run the series a few dozen times to see how often history repeats itself. Every at-bat, every pitching change, every ballpark detail — all driven by the real 1948 cards and the roll of the dice.

A Cards and Dice Baseball Game

Game Pulse is a true cards and dice baseball simulation. Every plate appearance is resolved by player cards and dice rolls — the same tactile, statistically driven experience that tabletop fans have loved for decades, brought to life digitally with full animation, sound, and presentation.

Full Game Pulse Compatibility

The 1948 Season Set works across every Game Pulse mode:
