A RARE PEEK INTO DREADOUT 2 ORIGINS

• This special demo originally created as a vertical slice for selected publishers during our early efforts to secure funding for DreadOut 2. While we ultimately chose to self-publish in the end, this build remains a rare piece of the game’s history.

  Developed at much earlier stage, this prototype captures a very different tone and direction for DreadOut. At the time, the experience leaned more toward stylized gothic action and a heavier atmospheric approach, before we refined it into the grounded survival horror you know today.

  AN ALTERNATE TAKE ON LINDA'S JOURNEY

  In this demo, you play as Linda navigating a condensed section of her home district that's overrun by supernatural threats. Unlike the final release, this version blends gothic hack and slash combat with the classic DreadOut camera mechanics you know, in a more stylized and action-forward tone.

  Explore the areas, uncover the disturbances haunting the district, and fight hostile entities using both melee attack and Linda's smartphone camera to defeat the ghosts.

  • Gothic Hack and Slash Combat
    Encounter fights with the threats more directly, with a design direction that emphasizes stronger in action over pure survival.

  • Classic DreadOut Camera Mechanics
    Linda's smartphone camera is still a core tool. Use it to weaken spirits, interact with the supernatural, and navigate the game in the DreadOut way.

  • Exploration-Driven Progression
    Move through a district filled with supernatural presence. Search for clues, trigger events, and push deeper into the scenario to uncover what is haunting the area.

  • Distinct Enemy Encounters
    Face more hostile entities different encounter setups, offering a short snapshot at an early and experimental approach to DreadOut 2's combat design.
