De-Extinct Desire
About this game
Eight Weeks Until First Light
In the high plains outside Antler, Montana, Vestige's nine thousand fenced acres hold the impossible: dire wolves, thylacines, and Clover—a woolly mammoth calf born too small, never quite right, and quietly failing.
You play Ansel Weir, Head of Living Collections: not a founder or scientist, but the keeper who bottle-fed Clover at 3 a.m. and knows the wolves as individuals, not assets. With First Light—a live, ticketed, globally broadcast unveiling—only eight weeks away, the preserve is about to change from research to spectacle. Ansel must decide whether he gave these engineered animals a life or built a beautiful cage.
Three women step into the same tightening countdown, each holding power over what happens next. Your single decisive choice will define which truth Ansel lives with—and who stands beside him when the lights come on.
Meet the Cast
Robin Farrow — The Lens
Robin is the embedded documentary filmmaker tasked with capturing the definitive story of Vestige—camera in every room, truth decided in the edit. Warm, sharp, and professionally dangerous, she can make someone forget they are being filmed. Ansel is the subject she cannot stop seeing clearly—and the man who threatens the rule she has lived by: you cannot love the story and keep it true.
Shea Ballard — The Neighbor
A fourth-generation rancher and large-animal vet, Shea is the coalition's plainspoken face and Vestige's most formidable opponent. She is protecting land, water, and livestock from real consequences when engineered predators live next door. Ansel is the only Vestige man she cannot dismiss, making him the enemy who might be right for her.
Dr. Freya Wexler — The Maker
Vestige's chief geneticist and Ansel's closest ally, Freya is the mind behind the edits and the one person who understands exactly how thin the miracle is. She loves through precision, fixing problems before anyone can name them. As Clover's condition worsens, her long partnership with Ansel is forced into the open.
