Cycho Demo

About this game

An Open Letter to Our First Cycho Players & Creators

Hey everyone,

If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're about to become one of the very first people to play Cycho.

First of all, thank you.

Seriously.

Thank you for taking the time to try a game that's still in its Demo stage and very much a work in progress.

What Kind of Game Is Cycho?

Cycho is a multiplayer strategy party game.

When we started building it, we kept asking ourselves one simple question:

Why do players stop playing when it's not their turn?

In many turn-based games, one player is making decisions while everyone else is just waiting.

We wanted to change that.

In Cycho, most of your planning, building, trading, investing, and strategizing happens while other players are taking their turns.

When your turn arrives, you're often putting a plan into action rather than starting from scratch.

Someone else's turn is also your strategy time.

Our goal is simple:

Make waiting part of the game.

A World Shaped by Players

Many players see the board, the properties, and the dice and immediately think:

"Oh, this is like Monopoly."

That's completely understandable.

But Cycho plays very differently.

The real game isn't about where you land.

It's about how you read the future.

You can invest, plan ahead, bet on future economic trends, and influence the decisions of other players.

Every few rounds, the game enters a new economic cycle.

Booms, recessions, inflation, and deflation aren't completely random.

They're heavily influenced by the collective actions of everyone at the table.

We also have an Influence system.

Money changes the market.

Influence changes the rules.

Our goal is for every match to create different stories, different strategies, and different outcomes.

About Dice & Luck

When people hear "dice," "investing," and "economic cycles," they often assume the game is heavily luck-based.

It isn't.

In Cycho, luck can change the situation, but it rarely decides the winner.

Different dice create different opportunities, risks, and playstyles.

The real challenge is deciding which risks are worth taking and how to prepare for what might happen next.

Economic cycles also include a layer of prediction and calculated risk.

You won't always know exactly what's coming.

But good planning, smart investments, and strong decisions will consistently outperform blind luck.

As development continues, we'll expand this system with new character abilities and Roguelike-style Cycle Talents.

Our goal is to create more exciting interactions, more strategic choices, and more memorable moments.

Why Are We Testing Now?

To be honest:

Cycho isn't finished.

We recently moved from internal testing into a real Steam multiplayer environment, and that immediately revealed issues we couldn't find before.

Including:

  • Multiplayer stability issues

  • Unexpected bugs

  • Areas where onboarding can be improved

  • UI and interaction improvements

We've also learned that some systems don't always communicate information clearly enough.

Sometimes players don't immediately understand:

  • Where their income came from

  • Why a strategy worked

  • Why a decision failed

For a strategy game, that's extremely important.

Improving that clarity is one of our biggest priorities moving forward.

Why Release It Anyway?

Because some problems can only be discovered by real players.

Players find strategies developers never expected.

Players create playstyles we never imagined.

And sometimes they completely break our assumptions in the best possible way.

In fact, we've already seen ideas and strategies during testing that surprised our entire team.

That's exactly what makes multiplayer strategy games exciting.

This Demo isn't just a showcase.

It's the first step in making Cycho better together.

What's Coming Next?

Over the next few updates, we'll focus on:

Stability & User Experience

  • Bug fixes

  • Multiplayer improvements

  • Better onboarding

  • Clearer UI and game feedback

Strategy Feedback & Balance

Helping players better understand the results of their decisions while continuing to improve game balance.

Cycle Talents

We're planning to introduce Roguelike-style Cycle Talents whenever a new economic cycle begins.

These won't be simple stat boosts.

Instead, they'll offer new strategic options and different ways to adapt to changing economic conditions.

More Characters & Skills

We'll continue expanding the roster of characters, skills, and strategic possibilities available in every match.

Thank You

To every player, creator, and early supporter:

Thank you for being here.

Cycho still has bugs.

It still has rough edges.

And it still has a lot to learn.

That's exactly why your feedback matters.

Every match played, every suggestion shared, and every bug reported helps shape what this game can become.

Welcome to Cycho.

And welcome to the experiment.

— The Cycho Team

About the Demo

Simply put, Cycho is all about rolling dice, buying land, building stuff, and messing with your friends — or what’s left of your friendships. Survive the chaos, betray smart, and be the last team standing.

About This Game:

Welcome to the world of Cycho, a dice-driven strategic and competitive online board game for up to 6 players , 3 teams where friendships are tested and alliances are shattered. In this high-stakes game of economic warfare and calculated trust, every roll of the dice matters. Will you play it safe, or will you betray your teammates for your own glorious victory?

The Core Gameplay Loop: Fortune, Strategy, and Sabotage

In Cycho, every turn is a pivotal decision. Players will:

  • Roll and Collide: Master a unique dice roll that you control. Aim your shot to not only determine movement but also to strategically collide with other players, buildings, and board mechanisms for explosive effects and bonus rewards.

  • Expand Your Empire: Land on empty tiles to purchase valuable land and erect powerful buildings. Choose wisely between Apartments, Shops, and Factories to generate income and gain an edge.

  • Unleash Skills: Employ the unique abilities of your chosen character to disrupt opponents, boost your economy, or turn the tide of battle.

  • Adapt to the Market: Navigate a constantly shifting economic landscape, where inflation and deflation challenge your every financial move.

Build Your Business Empire Success in Cycho isn't just about earning money—it's about building a powerful economic engine, even if it means taking on risk.

  • Create Strategic Building Combos: Don't just build, build smart. Discover the right combination of Hotels, Shops, and Factories to create powerful synergies. A well-placed Hotel can support a factory empire, maximizing your income and turning you into an economic powerhouse.

  • Leverage Debt for Explosive Growth: Fortune favors the bold. Take on calculated debt to rapidly expand your empire and purchase critical properties before your rivals can. But be warned—manage your finances poorly, and your debt could become your downfall.

  • Control the Market: Use your Shops to sell valuable tools and equipment to other players—for a hefty price, of course. Cornering the market on essential items can be just as powerful as owning the most land.

Forge and Break Alliances

In Cycho, you'll team up with another player, but be warned – betrayal is not only possible, it's often the key to victory. Form powerful alliances, but always watch your back, as today's ally could be the cause of your demise tomorrow. Every decision and every deal will be a test of trust in this high-stakes game of deception.

Master the Dice Roll

At the heart of Cycho is a unique dice-rolling mechanic. You don't just roll the dice; you take direct control of it. Aim your shot by controlling the force and direction of the die at the center of the board. A perfect shot can trigger powerful effects by colliding with other players, buildings, and special mechanisms on the board, all before the die's final result determines your movement. Skillful shots can earn you extra rewards and turn the tide of the game.

Navigate a Dynamic Economy

The world of Cycho features a living economic system where every player's actions have consequences. The routes you take, the resources you spend, and the buildings you construct all influence the game's economy, causing periods of inflation and deflation. These economic shifts will directly impact your income and the cost of goods, forcing you to adapt your strategy on the fly.

Unleash Unique Character Abilities

Choose from an initial roster of 10 distinct 3D characters, each with their own profession and two exclusive skills. Whether you're a cunning strategist or a ruthless aggressor, there's a character to suit your playstyle. Time the use of your skills to perfection to outmaneuver your opponents and seize victory. We are committed to expanding the roster with new and exciting characters in future updates.

Experience a Hybrid of Real-Time and Turn-Based Gameplay

Cycho offers a fast-paced blend of real-time and turn-based mechanics to keep you on your toes.

  • Rolling Phase: Roll the dice, move your character, purchase land, construct buildings, and unleash your skills.

  • Preparation Phase: A strategic phase while waiting others to move, to upgrade your buildings ,unleash your skills and plan your next move.

Victory Condition: Be the Last Team Standing

The path to victory in Cycho is simple: be the last team standing. To achieve this, you will need to master economic planning, perfect your dice control, strategically time your skills, and, most importantly, navigate the treacherous waters of trust and betrayal. Only the true champion will have outmaneuvered, out-bought, and out-betrayed all competition.

The early version includes

  •   5+ building types for players to construct and upgrade
