Blindstep

About this game

YOU ONLY SEE WHERE YOU'VE BEEN

Your forward vision module is gone.

You walk backwards. You stare down the corridor you just survived. And the

gap you are about to step into — the one waiting behind your back — you are

not allowed to look at it.

Turn the camera forward and your optics fail. Static. Glitch. Black.

You are still moving.

EVERY JUMP IS A LEAP OF FAITH

You clear the gap by remembering it. You find the ledge by the sound of your

own feet. BLINDSTEP is a first-person precision platformer built on one cruel

rule — and ten sectors that keep finding new ways to punish it.

TEN SECTORS. TEN SHAPES

Collapsing bridges. Hydraulic presses that only kill on the way down. Wind

tunnels. Sentinels with red eyes, patrolling corridors you can't watch.

Pressure-plate puzzles you have to solve while blind. A scanner that murders

you the instant you move.

Reach the end and your navigation log draws the path you walked.

You were tracing a number the whole time.

DIG YOUR EYES OUT OF THE DARK

One piece of the vision module is buried in every sector. Every piece widens

your cone of vision by a few degrees — a little more of the world you're

allowed to see before the black comes down.

The game gets easier. But only because you earned it.

FEATURES

  • A rule you've never played before: backwards only. W does nothing.

  • The blackout:look forward, lose the screen. Keep walking anyway.

  • Ten hand-finished sectors each shaped like a digit, each with hazards you haven't met yet.

  • A permanent upgrade you claw out of the dark:more vision, every sector.

  • Jumpscares that mean it.

  • Full audio, video and control settings. Rebind everything.

Photosensitivity warning: this game contains flashing lights, rapid

screen glitches and strobing effects that may not be suitable for players

with photosensitive epilepsy.

Blindstep

A robot with no forward vision. You can only walk backwards and the moment you turn to look where you're going, the screen goes black. Ten sectors of collapsing floors, hydraulic presses and things that patrol the dark. Every jump is taken blind.
